Mount Scopus College offers early learning opportunities at Caulfield South and St Kilda East. Although close to home, they provide all the benefits of connection to a sophisticated educational network and a large pool of resources, facilities and specialists. Yet the day to day atmosphere in each is one in which all voices are heard and encouraged in an intimate and nurturing environment. Parental participation is encouraged and welcomed. Socialising opportunities for each child are many and varied – a true reflection of Melbourne’s diverse Jewish community.

In keeping with Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences, our teachers introduce each stage of learning as it becomes appropriate for each child’s maturity and each blend of intelligences is recognised and nurtured. The First Steps and Early Years Programs encourage the exploration and mastering of oral and written language and numeracy. A Social Skills Program concentrates on developing skills of respect and communication. An elective program is also offered.

Under the umbrella of the Hebrew language and Jewish Studies programs, Tal Am / Tal Sela, and guided by the Jewish calendar the children enjoy celebrating Shabbat and the ‘chagim’ (festivals).
