Slezak Multimedia and Technology Centre Update

Work has begun in on the new Slezak Multimedia and Technology Centre, with Stage 1 demolition works almost complete. The rear wall of the existing library has been removed and a temporary wall put in place to allow the library to operation without interruption.

All internal ground floor walls have also been demolished as have the front steps leading up to the Rockman Library.

The next stage of the building process will see the preparation of ground works and concrete works to house the ground floor extension, before the steel structure begins to take shape. These works are expected to take a number of months.

The Slezak Multimedia and Technology Centre is expected to be completed early in 2005 and will house state-of-the-art computer facilities, an expanded Rockman Library, the Birch Family School of Media Studies and the Merkaz Centre for Informal Jewish Education.
